Ukrainian car carriers will continue to work without special permits for freight transportation to the European Union. The so -called "transport visa waiver" was extended until December 31, 2025. This was reported by Prime Minister of Ukraine Denis Shmigal after negotiations in Brussels.
“This is the fourth prolongation of the agreement that demonstrates its effectiveness and efficiency. Ukrainian exports to the EU have grown by 42%, imports to Ukraine-by 37%, ”Shmigal wrote in his Telegram.
Viceremier-Minister Alexei Kuleba stressed that it was an official continuation of liberalization of freight transportation between Ukraine and the European Union. According to him, automatic continuation was made possible by the effective cooperation of the Ukrainian side and the European Commission.
"This is important news for Ukrainian carriers, exporters and the whole economy," Kuleba said.
Transport visa waiver is a form of sectoral integration of Ukraine into a single European market. According to Shmigal, it is not only a convenient tool for business, but also a prerequisite for Ukraine's full membership in the EU.
The Ukrainian side thanked the European partners for their support, which they continue to provide for difficult time for Ukraine.
