The European Investment Bank (EIB) has announced a new stage of support of Ukraine by allocating EUR 16.5 million to restore critical infrastructure, as well as 100 million euros for modernization of water, heat supply and sewage. These funds will also go to the introduction of energy efficiency and improve social services in the fields of education, health care and housing sector.
The Prime Minister of Ukraine Denis Shmigal has informed about it, expressing gratitude to the bank for help in the restoration of infrastructure, which has been damaged due to Russian aggression.
- Restoration of energy and critical infrastructure.
- Modernization of social services in the field of education, health care and housing sector.
- Restoration of water, heat supply and drainage.
Schmigal stressed that the EIB sells 25 projects in Ukraine with a total cost of 4.95 billion euros. Of this amount, more than 2 billion euros were mobilized after the start of a full -scale war.
“The total portfolio of the EIB Project in Ukraine is one of the largest in the world. These funds help us restore energy, transport and social infrastructure, ”the Prime Minister said.
In addition to EIB funding, the United Kingdom also announced a new $ 55 million package. Of them:
- 17 million will be aimed at innovative energy projects to strengthen Ukrainian energy.
- 3 million - for the supply of grain and food to Syria.
The UK Foreign Minister David Lemmy assured of long -term support of Ukraine, emphasizing the importance of strategic partnership between the two countries.
Assisting international partners is an important step in the restoration of Ukraine. These resources will not only improve the infrastructure, but also strengthen the country's energy independence.
