The Cabinet of Ministers of Ukraine has submitted to the Verkhovna Rada a new bill that provides for mandatory registration of conscripts at the age of 17. This decision is due to the need to improve military reform and ensure the country's readiness for defense.

According to the text of the draft, from January 1 to July 31, citizens who turn 17 in the year of registration must undergo electronic identification of personal data in the Electronic Cabinet of a conscript, conscript, or reservist. Or personally appear at the CCC with a list of documents established by the Ministry of Defense.
The only possible reasons for non-appearance are: illness, natural disaster, residence in temporarily occupied territories or areas of hostilities, as well as "other circumstances" (the list is not specified).
This project also states that women who are fit for military service due to their health and age and who have expressed a desire to undergo basic military service will, upon their application, be registered as conscripts. And after completing basic military service, they will be registered as conscripts.
