Journalists of Bihus.Info discovered the connections of two-term People's Deputy Ivan Krulk from "Batkivshchyna" and his brother, a local deputy from the same political force, with the Apartel chain of hotels and restaurants. The development of the hotel and restaurant business took place after the election of Ivan Krulk to the Verkhovna Rada. New facilities were opened even during the full-scale invasion of the Russian Federation. Despite the fact that the brother of the people's deputy even mentions himself among the partners in this business, none of the Krulks have an official status in this company and, accordingly, did not mention this business in their declarations.
Ivan Krulko has been a people's deputy since 2014 and is a member of the Batkivshchyna faction, where he is also one of Yulia Tymoshenko's deputies. In early September 2023, he refused to support the opening of the register of electronic property declarations, citing wartime security considerations.
According to journalists, in June 2023, Ivan Krulko was present at the opening of the private hotel and restaurant complex Apartel Uzhhorod. The festive ribbon was cut by Vasyl Krulko, the younger brother of the People's Deputy, who has been a deputy of the Transcarpathian Regional Council from "Batkivshchyna" since 2020. In 2021, Ivan Krulko was also present at the opening of the Huston Hotel in the city of Hust (the hotel is also listed on the Apartel website).
Vasyl Krulk's mother-in-law, Oksana Sabadosh, is entered in the register of legal entities as the owner of several companies (Velos LLC, Rikka Hust LLC, Rikka Hust1 LLC, Rikka Hust2 LLC) that manage the land under the future huge 5-star complexes Apartel Skhidnytsya and Apartel Rikka Khust, as well as real estate currently under construction there.
In addition, the rights to the Apartel trademark belong to Krulka Jr.'s mother-in-law.
Journalists also discovered the connection of People's Deputy Ivan Krulk and his family with several persons who are publicly mentioned as co-founders (partners) of the Apartel network: Serhii Maksimenko, Mykhailo Madyarchyk and Artem Orl.
Bihus.Info journalists recorded how People's Deputy Krulko arrived near the Verkhovna Rada in 2021 in a Mercedes-Benz V250 minibus owned by Serhii Maksimenko. According to previous party reports, this minibus was rented from Maksimenko by the Batkivshchyna party with funds allocated from the budget to finance parliamentary forces.
In 2023, the wife of People's Deputy Krulka began to use a Lexus NX200 crossover belonging to Serhii Maksimenko. Ivan Krulko explained to journalists that his wife rents this car from Maksimenko. In addition, in 2017, Maksymenko purchased a plot of land in the Kyiv region from the wife of Ivan Krulk. Now Maksimenko has legal ties as a director or owner in companies involved in the construction of network facilities.
In 2019, Mykhailo Madyarchyk, who is also called the co-founder of the Apartel chain, bought an apartment from Ivan Krulk in the "British Quarter" residential complex for six times more than the people's deputy invested in it.
Another acquaintance of the Krulk brothers, Artem Orel, who is the director of one of Krulk Jr.'s mother-in-law's firms, in 2018 bought a plot of land in Kyiv region from People's Deputy Krulk.
In a comment for journalists, Ivan Krulko stated that he has nothing to do with the Apartel network and does not receive any profits from its activities. The People's Deputy could not answer the question about his brother's share in this business.
It is interesting that during his work in the parliament, the property status of People's Deputy Ivan Krulk improved significantly. Before being elected in 2013, he and his family owned an apartment in Brovary, a 6-year-old Honda Civic, and land plots in Kyiv and Kherson regions.
In 2019, his family already had two apartments in the prestigious "French Quarter 2" residential complex in the capital, a parking space in the same complex, a box in a garage cooperative, two BMW X1 and X5 crossovers, respectively, as well as part of the mentioned land plots in Kyiv and Kherson regions. The People's Deputy explains this by the fact that he successfully sold his previous property and invested in apartments in the capital during the construction phase.
