According to the latest data released by the Authorized Representative of the Ministry of Defense Oleksiy Bezhevets, from 17% to 20% of all those who apply to recruiting centers for service in the Armed Forces of Ukraine are women.
"Currently, approximately 17-20% of those who stay after the first visit and continue working with the centers for job selection and subsequent placement in units are women. This is great, because it shows the great potential of women in the military," Bezhevets said.
He also added that often women—wives, sisters, mothers—come to recruitment centers to find out about vacancies for their relatives.
"We are creating a system that allows people to decide and get into the chosen unit. Come, ask. If necessary, come or call at least 10 times," emphasized the representative of the Ministry of Defense.
According to the Ministry of Defense, over the past six months, more than 10,000 people have applied to recruiting centers, a large part of whom join the Armed Forces as volunteers. Bezhevets emphasized that about a third of all recruits are volunteers who independently found positions and joined military units.
Bezhevets also noted that people who received summonses to update their credentials can contact recruiting centers. "Then they come not with a summons for mobilization, but with a letter of recommendation as volunteers to apply for a specific position," he said.
Since November 2023, the Ministry of Defense has been cooperating with well-known job search sites such as thelobbyx.com, Work.ua, Robota.ua, Olx.ua. As of the beginning of January 2024, 1,847 vacancies from 389 units of the Security and Defense Forces of Ukraine were posted on these platforms.
