According to information received from our source in the Office of the President, the case against Artem Shyl has been transferred to the courts. Oleg Tatarov, who has a direct connection with Shyl's appointment to the position, is personally deciding on this issue. Earlier, Bankova was informed about the possible arrest of Shyl by the National Anti-Corruption Bureau and the Specialized Anti-Corruption Prosecutor's Office. It should be noted that Shyl was recently dismissed from his position in the Department of Counterintelligence Protection of the Economy of the Security Service of Ukraine.
The case concerns Artem Shyl, a former advisor to the President's Office, who is suspected of creating a group involved in the embezzlement of 94.8 million hryvnias of funds from JSC Ukrzaliznytsia. According to the decision of the High Anti-Corruption Court, Shyl must pay a bail of 30 million hryvnias.
"The bail in the amount of 30 million hryvnias, determined by the decision of the High Anti-Corruption Court as an alternative to a preventive measure in the form of detention, has been posted," the High Anti-Corruption Court reported on Thursday.
The bail decision was made in the context of the accusations against Shyl, who previously worked in the Office of the President of Ukraine.
Anti-corruption authorities previously uncovered the activities of an organized group that seized 94.8 million hryvnias during the purchase of transformers during martial law. This group was created in 2021 to control the finances of Ukrzaliznytsia. “From June to December 2022, its leader, with the help of his officials who were under his influence at Ukrzaliznytsia, organized the selection of certain companies as suppliers of power transformers,” the prosecutor’s office informs.
