It will now be possible to atone for corruption by paying an official fine

The Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine approved draft law No. 11340, which became the cause of sharp criticism and indignation among the public and anti-corruption organizations. The draft law provides an opportunity for suspects and accused of corruption crimes to avoid severe punishment if they compensate for the damage caused, pay a fine and do not disclose information about other crimes or accomplices.

A month ago, behind closed doors, bill No. 11340 was considered and approved for adoption in the first reading, which allows suspects and accused of corruption for particularly serious crimes to compensate for damage, pay a fine and avoid liability.

At the same time, as noted in the anti-corruption committee of the Verkhovna Rada, the law will create "conditions under which suspects or accused of corruption criminal offenses, including the organizers of such crimes, can redeem themselves from severe punishment without exposing any accomplices and without providing information about others known to them crimes".

The official prices are as follows:

▪️from 204 thousand UAH to 2.04 million UAH - criminal offense
▪️from 2.057 million to 20.4 million UAH - non-serious crime
▪️from 20.417 million to 102 million UAH - serious
▪️from 102 million UAH to 204 million UAH - crime of special gravity .

Zadorozhny , accused of corruption, is among the creators of the draft law .
