The majority of Ukrainians support the idea of creating a government of national unity that unites patriotic forces, both in the parliament and outside it. Such results were obtained in the course of a sociological survey of the Kyiv International Institute of Sociology (KIIS), which was conducted from December 1 to 9, 2024.
According to the data, 47% of respondents expressed support for the idea of a government of national unity, while 37% were neutral and only 10% opposed.
As for the candidates for the position of the head of such a government, Petro Poroshenko, who was named by 20% of the respondents, received the most support. In second place is Prime Minister Denys Shmyhal with 13% support. They are followed by Yulia Tymoshenko (7%), Yuriy Boyko (5%) and Oleksandra Ustinova (4%).
Anton Hrushetskyi, executive director of KMIS, emphasized that there is a strong demand for unity among political forces in Ukraine, regardless of their ideological direction.
The survey was conducted among adult citizens of Ukraine living in government-controlled territories. The sample did not include residents of temporarily occupied territories (except internally displaced persons) and persons who left the country after February 24, 2022.
