According to the Patrol Police of Ukraine, in the first three months of 2025 only 9 574 road accidents occurred in Ukraine. In these accidents, 1 252 people were killed, another 11,751 were injured in varying severity. Most deadly road accidents occurred in March.
In January, 1,657 accidents were recorded. As a result of the accidents, 235 people were killed, 2 029 were injured.
In February, there were 3 092 accidents - 406 people were killed, 3 793 were injured.
The worst situation was observed in March - 4 825 road accidents, 611 dead and 5 929 injured.
The main causes of fatal accidents are speeding, departure on the oncoming lane (not related to overtake) and violation of the rules of passage of unregulated pedestrian crossings. These factors lead to the most serious effects on the roads.
We will remind, recently on the route Odesa - Ren truck collided with a car - one person died. And in Kiev in the Holosiivskyi district, the driver violated the rules of the turn, which led to a deadly collision - the passenger was killed, two more were injured.
Such an accident dynamics causes serious concern. Experts call the drivers to maximize care, and law enforcement agencies to strengthen the control over the observance of traffic regulations.
