Four years in prison for evasion of mobilization: the decision of the Lviv Court of Appeal

The Lviv Court of Appeals decided to sentence a 39-year-old resident of Novy Rozdol to four years in prison for evading mobilization. The man, although he was deemed fit for military service due to his health, refused to serve in the ranks of the Armed Forces of Ukraine.

Earlier, the district court sentenced him to four years of imprisonment, but with a two-year probationary period. However, the prosecutors filed an appeal, and the Lviv Court of Appeal changed the sentence, sentencing the man to actual imprisonment.

According to the report of the Lviv Regional Prosecutor's Office, the accused refused to serve in the army, despite the fact that he was able to serve. In this regard, the court made a decision, which should serve as a signal for other persons who avoid fulfilling their duties to the state.
