The "mole" was mobilized: the agent of the Russian Federation wanted to spy on "zero", but he will go to prison
Ukrainian law enforcement agencies have announced that a well-known enemy agent has been sentenced to rigorous imprisonment, who, using the grounds of mobilization to the Armed Forces, planned to carry out espionage activities at advanced positions on the eastern front.
According to the intelligence agency, the traitor turned out to be a resident of the Dnipropetrovsk region, who in the 2000s graduated from Moscow State University, where he obtained a law degree. During his studies, he came into the field of view of the Russian military intelligence (GRU of the Russian Federation). After graduating from university, he returned to Ukraine, where he was in "waiting mode" for a long time.
In 2023, his Russian curator appeared on the figure. After that, he was mobilized to one of the armed forces brigades, as part of which he was sent to the Bakhmut district. "Krit" collected intelligence on the locations and movements of Ukrainian troops. He communicated with the curator through a specially created chatbot administered by the Russians.
However, he secretly left his unit soon after. The enemy agent was detained in the Vinnytsia region at the end of February when he tried to escape to the unrecognized Transnistria across the border river.
On the basis of the collected evidence, the perpetrator was found guilty under Part 2 of Art. 111 (treason committed under martial law) and Part 4 of Art. 408 (desertion) of the Criminal Code of Ukraine. He cooperated with the investigation and therefore received only 15 years of imprisonment with confiscation of property.
