At the border with Hungary, border guards of the Mukachevo detachment stopped seventeen people. Yesterday evening, as a result of information from the operative and investigative department, the border squads from the "Kosino" and "Luzhanka" departments found 12 people on the outskirts of the village of Velyka Byygan who were trying to cross the border. During further searches with the help of a drone, 5 more people were found.
16 of those detained intended to enter Hungary illegally. They are residents of nine different regions of Ukraine: Dnipropetrovsk, Ivano-Frankivsk, Donetsk, Luhansk, Kyiv, Chernihiv, Zaporizhzhya, Zakarpattia and Lviv. The intruders were accompanied by a 27-year-old local resident who, together with five of his "clients", tried to avoid the border guards.
The detainees were taken to the border unit to draw up protocols on committed administrative offenses and to clarify the circumstances. All 16 men paid the smugglers 111.5 thousand US dollars.
Currently, employees of the operative and investigative units of the Mukachevo detachment are identifying persons involved in the organization of illegal activities. Regarding the actions of the 27-year-old Transcarpathian, who may be the perpetrator, the border guards sent a report to the National Police under Article 332 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine "Illegal transportation of persons across the state border of Ukraine."
