The Cabinet of Ministers of Ukraine submitted draft laws to the Verkhovna Rada aimed at making changes to the system of mobilization and military registration of citizens. This was announced by the representative of the Cabinet of Ministers in the Council, Taras Melnychuk, in his Telegram.
"The Cabinet of Ministers of Ukraine, as a subject of a legislative initiative, has registered in the Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine: the Draft Law "On Amendments to Certain Legislative Acts of Ukraine on Improvement of Certain Issues of Mobilization, Military Registration and Military Service," said Taras Melnychuk.
Some key aspects of these bills include:
- Electronic sending of summonses: Citizens can receive a summons through the draftee's electronic office or by e-mail.
- Changes in military rotation: Military personnel may be assigned a rest and recovery rotation after six months of continuous combat engagement, with a recovery period of at least two months.
- Entering into the Unified register of debtors: Citizens who have not arrived at the military units will be entered into the Unified register of debtors with subsequent application of restrictions.
- Conscription age and liability for evasion: The conscription age is changed from 27 to 25, and restrictions are placed on the rights of those who evade military registration.
- Basic military training: Instead of conscription, basic military training lasting up to three months is being introduced for citizens aged 18 to 25.
- Released Prisoner's Leave: Military personnel who have been released from captivity will be granted an additional leave of 90 days with stipend.
- Recruiting and the new military rank: A new military rank of "recruit" is introduced, and various centers and officials are involved in the recruitment activities.
These draft laws are part of the reform of the military service system in Ukraine and aim to improve the effectiveness of mobilization and improve the military registration of citizens.
