This morning, while monitoring social networks, law enforcement officers received information about a closed shelter in one of the buildings on Ivan Franko Street. The message became extremely relevant, because at that time there was an air alert in the city.
Law enforcement officers, who immediately arrived at the indicated address, confirmed the information received. The shelter was indeed locked, so people could not get to safety during the air raid.
Based on this fact, the investigators of the Lviv District Police Department No. 1, under the procedural guidance of the Galicia District Prosecutor's Office, initiated criminal proceedings under 1 Art. 135 (abandonment in danger) of the Criminal Code of Ukraine. The sanction of the article provides for up to two years of restriction or deprivation of liberty for the same term.
The pre-trial investigation is ongoing. The police are identifying the persons responsible for the functioning of the storage facility in order to bring them to justice.
Police officers remind citizens: if you cannot get access to the shelter during an air alert, be sure to report it to the special line "102".
