The Prozorro portal indicates that the estimated cost of purchasing and installing air conditioners is 629,000 hryvnias. However, the general director of YASNO, Serhiy Kovalenko, urges the residents of Kyiv to refrain from using them due to the high consumption of electricity, which exceeds some regional centers.
The situation with electricity supply in Ukraine remains critical, and air conditioners play an important role in this, Kovalenko emphasizes in his message on social networks. He notes that air conditioners in Kyiv consume more electricity every day than some regional centers.
"Here you are laughing, but air conditioners in Kyiv gave 350 MW per day. This is more than some regional centers... All of them. Businesses also have air conditioning. This is a cumulative jump in consumption with rising temperature," Serhiy Kovalenko wrote.
Yesterday, the general director also drew attention to the problem, warning of the possibility of power cuts even to critical infrastructure due to high consumption levels.
"Think about that when you turn on the air conditioner," he urged.
At the same time, "Ukrenergo" announced a tender for the purchase of air conditioners with an estimated cost of 629,000 hryvnias. According to Prozorro, the company plans to purchase 4 sets of air conditioning systems and install them. The deadline for submitting proposals is June 11.
