The Commander-in-Chief of the Armed Forces of Ukraine, Valery Zaluzhny, shared a selfie on his Facebook on January 30, in which he is pictured together with the Chief of the General Staff of the Ukrainian Armed Forces, Serhiy Shaptala.
In the photo, Zaluzhnyi and Shaptala are fixed in the study at the same table, dressed in khaki hoodies with the print "Army Ukraine". Zaluzhnyi was wearing glasses during the shooting. The general left his post without comment.
"Ukraine is with you, Mr. Generals," expressed support on the network.
"Only in unity is our strength. We believe, we trust, we love," Ukrainians commented on the photo.
It should be noted that the Commander-in-Chief published this photo after rumors about his alleged dismissal began to spread on some Telegram channels and mass media on January 29, citing his own sources.
Olesya Batsman, editor-in-chief of the "GORDON" publication, stated on Facebook that these rumors are not true. "No, it's not true. According to my sources, whom I fully trust," she wrote.
Later, in a comment for "Ukrainian Pravda", the press secretary of the president Serhiy Nikiforov denied the information about the dismissal of the commander-in-chief of the Armed Forces. "When asked whether the president fired Zaluzhnyi, the spokesman answered: "Absolutely not. The president did not dismiss the commander-in-chief," the press secretary wrote. In a comment for Suspilny, Nikiforov added: "There is no reason to talk, there was no dismissal. I can't add anything else."
