The former commander-in-chief of the Armed Forces of Ukraine Valery Zaluzhnyi said that Europe is not ready for a long military confrontation with Russia. He told about this in an interview with the Ukrainian mass media, emphasizing the problems that may arise in the event of a protracted war of attrition.
He reminded that Ukraine was attacked by about two thousand air targets in October, "and the trend will be that this number will increase."
"The number of air targets is increasing, and the number of means of combat is limited and too expensive. Even by this indicator, I believe that neither Britain nor European countries will be ready. Despite the fact that there is a sufficient number of F-16 aircraft with excellent air defense capabilities, it is possible to completely unload the air defense system in 2-3 months," said Zaluzhny.
He also says that Western countries will not have enough funds to shoot down thousands of aerial bombs.
"Is there at least 5,000 missiles for Patriot systems to shoot down guided aerial bombs in one European country or in Great Britain today? I doubt something. Because they are very expensive and, as a result, it is impossible to have a lot of them, because it is problematic to produce them," added the ex-head.
