The National Anti-Corruption Bureau of Ukraine (NABU) detained the Deputy Minister of Energy of Ukraine on suspicion of receiving a bribe in the amount of half a million dollars. According to the investigation, the official demanded and received money from the manager of a coal company located in western Ukraine.
According to the investigation, he took money from the manager of a coal enterprise in Western Ukraine for the removal of mining equipment from the front-line area with the possibility of its use.
The head of the energy company from the Mykolaiv region and the head of the state coal enterprise of the Donetsk region are also involved in the case.
It is stated that the Minister of Energy himself assisted in his arrest.
According to the investigation, representatives of the coal industry turned to the deputy minister for permission to evacuate unique and scarce equipment from the state mine in the Pokrovsky direction, where the Russian offensive is active.
However, the official demanded money, for which he promised the managers of the state-owned enterprises of the Lviv-Volyn coal basin to hand over this mining equipment for use without hindrance.
He involved accomplices in the scheme, through whom the money was transferred. The question of the choice of all four precautionary measures is being resolved.
