The Supreme Anti -Corruption Court found guilty of trying to bribe the judges of the Deputy Chairman of the Federation of Trade Unions of Ukraine Volodymyr Sayenko and his accomplice. They were sentenced to 4 years in prison, as well as the confiscation of half of all their property.
The case was investigated by the State Bureau of Investigation. According to the investigation, Sayenko, while in custody, tried to change the precautionary measure to house arrest with a bribe - $ 150 thousand. He organized his attempt to bribe through his acquaintance, who had to transfer funds through the "performer" of the panel of judges of the Kyiv Court of Appeal.
In the course of the case, the court found the evidence convincing, and the actions of the accused - an attempt to influence justice. The court also decided to apply a special confiscation of the bribe.
This is not the first episode in Sayenko's biography that attracted the attention of law enforcement. In 2019, he appeared in the case of illegal alienation of the State Resort Balnear in Kiev. According to the investigation, then the official in conspiracy with other representatives of the FPU transferred the property to the property of a private enterprise, which caused millions of losses to the state.
The BCS sentence on bribery attempting to be another testimony to a consistent anti -corruption policy aimed at clearing the state apparatus from corruption practices.
