The Office of the Prosecutor General of Ukraine announced the termination of the activities of an interregional organized criminal group that specialized in drug trafficking throughout the country. According to the prosecutor's office, the criminals were active in the capital and in the regions of Kharkiv, Sumy, Donetsk, Odesa, Kyiv, Dnipropetrovsk, Chernivtsi, and Mykolaiv.
Previously, the organizer of the drug business was a 25-year-old resident of Dnipro. Members of the organized group were engaged in the manufacture and trade of Alpha-PVP, amphetamine and cannabis.
Drug sales took place through an extensive network of Telegram channels without face-to-face meetings, through so-called "bookmarks" to avoid identification.
The approximate monthly profit of the group exceeded UAH 10 million.
Law enforcement officers conducted 50 searches in the specified regions. The total value of seized drugs and psychotropic substances on the black market is over UAH 11.5 million.
Weapons, ammunition, eight cars worth more than 200,000 dollars, funds in the amount of 47,600 dollars, 9,200 euros, 393,580 hryvnias and 10,000 Polish zlotys were also seized.
It is reported that 14 persons have been charged with the manufacture and sale of psychotropic substances and narcotics in accordance with parts 2 and 3 of Art. 307 of the CCU.
