The Supreme Anti-Corruption Court has decided to arrest one of the suspects in the case of illegal appropriation of nationalized petroleum products belonging to Serhiy Kurchenko in the amount of 967 million hryvnias. The decision was announced by the press service of the Specialized Anti-Corruption Prosecutor's Office.
According to the press service, on February 15, 2024, the investigating judge of the High Anti-Corruption Court, at the request of detectives of the National Anti-Corruption Bureau of Ukraine (NABU) and with the consent of the prosecutor of the Specialized Anti-Corruption Prosecutor's Office (SAP), appointed a preventive measure in the form of detention with the alternative of posting bail in the amount of over 9 million hryvnias for one of the accomplices of the criminal organization. This organization, on suspicion, seized petroleum products worth 967 million hryvnias, which were arrested in the case against the owner of the group of companies "Eastern European Fuel and Energy Company" (SEPEK), namely the former deputy director of the state-owned enterprise. In the event of posting bail, the suspect will be assigned appropriate procedural obligations.
