The President of Ukraine, Volodymyr Zelenskyy, stated that ending the war on Ukrainian terms is not only desirable, but also possible. In the interview, which was published with a video recording, Zelenskyi emphasized the importance of implementing the points of the so-called "Peace Formula", which was proposed by the Ukrainian side to achieve a just and lasting peace.
This is stated in the evening address of the president.
Zelensky thanked Ukrainian soldiers for the attacks on Russian airfields, oil refineries and logistics. He said that on Saturday he listened to a report on this matter by the Commander-in-Chief of the Armed Forces Oleksandr Syrskyi.
He emphasized that Ukraine needs to obtain the permission of its partners to launch long-range strikes against Russia.
"Where there is an occupier, there from where Russia attacks Ukraine, from where it launches rockets, Shaheds, bombs. We need this solution so that we can act with all the weapons that can be effective. We must protect the lives of our people and end the war on Ukrainian terms. And every strike that accurately responds to Russia's aerial bombs, that destroys Russian logistics and bases, that makes it difficult for the occupier to stay on our land, every such strike brings the just end of the war closer," the head of state said.
Zelensky also thanked the partners who continue to put pressure on Russia and the countries that help it in the war with sanctions. He emphasized that the sanctions should work and be strengthened so that the Russian Federation cannot circumvent them.
"The more difficult it will be for Moscow to maintain its military production and provide for the army, the more it will actually force Russia to peace. And the points of our Peace Formula are precisely why it is absolutely possible to realize that the world majority is putting pressure on Russia, does not support its military activity and really wants to restore stability to international relations. Sanctions contribute to this, and there will be real peace. It will happen if we do not show weakness and adhere to the course for justice," the president emphasized.
