Ukrainians will traditionally celebrate Epiphany on January 6. In order to ensure safety during the celebrations, the State Emergency Service of Ukraine will deploy more than 140 rescue posts in places specially equipped for swimming. About 500 rescuers and more than 100 pieces of equipment will take turns.
The rescuers remind that the participation in the celebrations should take place in accordance with the established rules, especially in the conditions of martial law. Here are some important recommendations:
- Choose only specially equipped places for swimming , where lifeguards are on duty.
- Before diving, do a warm-up to prepare the body for a sharp temperature drop.
- You should dive into the water slowly, and stay in it for no more than 10-15 seconds .
- After bathing, you should immediately wipe yourself with a dry towel , dress warmly and drink hot tea.
- Avoid alcohol before and after swimming, as it puts additional strain on the heart and blood vessels.
Prohibitions and restrictions
The State Emergency Service categorically warns against swimming in unauthorized bodies of water, especially in regions close to the war zone. Children should be bathed only under the supervision of adults.
In Kyiv, places for bathing have already been arranged, which are regularly checked for compliance with sanitary standards. Rescuers will be on duty at each location, and the municipal enterprise "Pleso" ensures water quality control.
