In 2025, the Ukrainian football team is expecting a busy season: the national team will play in two important tournaments at once-the Playoff League of Nations and Selection at the 2026 World Cup. In total, eight official matches are planned, and several more can appear as friendly meetings.
The first matches were already held in March. In the framework of the playoffs of the League of Nations, Ukrainians beat Belgium at home with a score of 3: 1, but in the match was defeated 0: 3, which did not allow to break into the elite division of the tournament.
Further, Sergiy Rebrov's team is waiting for the fight in the qualifying group D to the 2026 World Cup. Ukraine's rivals were France, Azerbaijan and Iceland. The tournament distance will start in September and end in November.
