A border guard in Transcarpathia, having noticed two violators, fired two warning shots into the air, but this did not stop them. When help arrived, the attackers had already crossed the state border of Ukraine and stolen a weapon from a State Border Guard Service officer.
The incident occurred at the “Dilove” police station - “Bogdan” police station section. According to a message from journalist Vitaliy Glagola on the Telegram channel, two men who were trying to illegally cross the border between Ukraine and Romania, after revealing themselves through a signal mine, attacked one of the border guards.
"After the border guard noticed two men near the border, he fired two warning shots into the air. However, instead of stopping, the violators attacked the border guard and took his Fort 12 R pistol. During the escape, the violators fired five shots at the border guard, but, fortunately, they missed," Glagola noted.![]()
According to the reporter, the attackers managed to avoid being caught by border guards and escape across the state border with their weapons before help arrived.
An investigation into this incident is currently underway. The Transcarpathian regional police have so far refrained from commenting on this incident, but the topic of violating the state border has been noted in law enforcement reports over the past 24 hours.
In particular, law enforcement officers conducted searches at the premises of the organizers of the scheme of illegal transportation of military conscripts across the state border. According to operational data, the transportation channels operated in the Tyachiv and Beregov districts, using both land and water routes using boats.
During the search of the suspects, law enforcement officers found and seized four rubber boats and oars for them, binoculars, seven luxury cars, 12 mobile phones, and a sum of currency.
Meanwhile, the number of people trying to avoid military service remains stable, and frequent attempts to avoid mobilization, such as swimming across the Tisza River, end tragically: many conscripts die.
