In Lviv and Kyiv, police conducted searches in the case of possible fraud with Donati for treatment. The main person involved in Lviv was Nazarii Gusakov - a person with disabilities who have collected donations for alleged complex treatment for years. According to the investigation, instead of saving health, some of the millions collected could go into cryptocurrency or banal "dissolved".
The searches conducted the habitats of Gusakov himself, as well as his friends and acquaintances whose bank cards he also raised money. One of them, according to the investigation, helped to bring money into cryptocurrency. The case was opened under the articles on fraud and legalization of proceeds from crime.
Nazarii Gusakov is currently abroad. Its location is unknown, which complicates investigative actions. Law enforcement officers suggest that he had left Ukraine after collecting a considerable amount under the pretext of urgent treatment.
Publicly, Husakov positioned himself as a seriously ill, showed photos from medical institutions and told touching stories about the need for expensive procedures. The fundraising was made through Telegram, social networks and even personal appeals to bloggers and journalists. At various stages, he called on help to save life, appealing to patriotic and human feelings.
However, according to the sources in law enforcement agencies, there are no confirmations about real treatment, which would meet the declared millions of hryvnias. The case is already called one of the largest cases of poor use of donor trust in war.
The investigation is ongoing. Law enforcement officers urge anyone who has transferred funds to Husakov's accounts to contact the police.
