President of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelenskyy had a phone call with his Liberian counterpart Joseph Newmo Boakai, during which they discussed preparations for the upcoming Global Peace Summit.
According to Zelensky, the dialogue also considered the consequences of Russia's large-scale military aggression against Ukraine, as well as the impact of this war on food security in Africa.
The President expressed gratitude for the principled support of the sovereignty and territorial integrity of Ukraine by the Republic of Liberia. In this context, they discussed preparations for the Global Peace Summit.
It is noted that the Global Peace Summit is scheduled for June 15-16 in the Swiss city of Bürgenstock, organized by Ukraine and Switzerland. At least 50 countries have already confirmed their participation, as reported by the head of the communications department of the Swiss Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Nicolas Bidault.
Also, German Chancellor Olaf Scholz expressed his support for the upcoming Ukrainian Peace Summit, seeing new opportunities in this meeting.
Additionally, Volodymyr Zelenskyy had a telephone conversation with the President of the Republic of Korea, Yun Seok Yeol, during which the latter confirmed his participation in the Peace Summit in Switzerland.
