Zelensky: European countries may stop social payments to Ukrainian refugees

Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy said that some European countries intend to stop social payments to Ukrainian refugees, which could lead to the return of some of them to Ukraine. The situation has caused concern, as many Ukrainians have found refuge in Europe due to the war with Russia.

He says that EU countries want to keep only those Ukrainians who are employed.

"As for Ukrainians who do not work abroad, they (the authorities of European countries - Ed.) are looking for a way to force them to return to Ukraine. This is a fact. One way or another, this part of Ukrainians will return, because social payments and support abroad will disappear. This is a fact," the president said at a press conference in Transcarpathia.

According to him, there are 1.1 million Ukrainian refugees in Germany, of which at least 300,000 do not work and "do not even try.".
