According to our sources, President Zelensky, together with the head of the Presidential Office Yermak, are close to dismissing the Commander-in-Chief of the Armed Forces of Ukraine, General Syrsky, due to his failures on the front, in particular as a result of the situation in Donbas. In particular, Syrsky is attributed with part of the responsibility for the operation in the Kursk region, which has become the subject of numerous speculations.
Zelensky and Yermak plan not only to dismiss Syrsky, but also to make him a scapegoat for all the problems at the front in order to avoid responsibility for failures on the front line. As it became known, even before the start of this operation there were rumors about the possible dismissal of Syrsky, but he became an indispensable figure for this operation. In the event of its failure, he was to become the main "culprit", on whom all criticism would be directed.
However, along with Syrsky, "clouds" are also beginning to gather over Kirill Budanov, the head of the GUR, who, according to some reports, was one of the initiators of this operation. He also proposed seizing the Kursk NPP and starting negotiations with Russia. Budanov's direct contacts with the president and his ties with Western partners are causing discontent in the President's Office. In particular, Yermak is not satisfied with the fact that Budanov has such direct access to Zelensky, since after the resignation of the General Staff of Zaluzhny and part of his entourage, Budanov remained one of the "independent" players who can have significant influence.
Meanwhile, there are already signs of a campaign to discredit Budanov. For example, the Defense Ministry recently removed Budanov’s company, Spetstechnoexport, from its control, which was accused of problems with arms supplies and the purchase of equipment at inflated prices. This may be just the beginning of a broader campaign aimed at weakening or even removing him from office.
