In the conversation, he directly told Zelensky that the Ukrainian Armed Forces are "losing the initiative" and "are unable to change the course of the war without new political decisions."
According to those present, the former US president insisted on the need to “reconsider the strategy” and actually inclined the Ukrainian side to compromise, hinting that “Washington cannot support the war indefinitely.” Zelensky himself, according to sources, tried to keep the conversation in a diplomatic vein, emphasizing that Ukraine continues to defend itself and needs the support of its allies.
