Zelenskyy signed a law on reforming the State Customs Service

President of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelenskyy signed Law No. 6490-d, which concerns the reform of the State Customs Service (SCS) . This was announced by People's Deputy Yaroslav Zheleznyak .

According to the new legislation, changes to customs will come into effect at the beginning of next month and provide for a number of important innovations.

Main provisions of the law:

  1. Customs Reboot : The reform will be based on the principles of the Bureau of Economic Security (BES) and will be agreed with international partners.
  2. Transparent competition for the head of the State Customs Service : The selection of the new head of the State Customs Service will be held through an open competition with the participation of international organizations.
  3. Political independence of the head of the State Medical Service : The head of the State Medical Service can be dismissed only upon the conclusion of an audit, which will ensure greater stability in the service.
  4. Recertification of employees : Within 18 months of the appointment of the new head of the SMS, all employees of the service will be recertified.
  5. International experts in certification committees : Half of the members of the certification committees for management positions will be selected by international experts based on proposals from the business community.
  6. Salary increases : The law provides for salary increases for customs employees in accordance with the legislation.

This reform aims to increase the efficiency of the State Customs Service, ensure the transparency of its activities, and increase trust in customs authorities.
