Zelensky gave an interview to Shapiro: "We are a shield of the event, and we fight not just for ourselves"

President of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelensky interviewed American journalist Ben Shapiro, in which he openly told about the main challenges for the country during a full -scale war. Key topics include mobilization, fight against corruption, global ambitions of Russia and international support. The first part of the interview appeared on the network on the evening of April 24.

The mobilization will continue until the war continues that
the President emphasized that the mobilization process in Ukraine continues in accordance with the law and is necessary in wartime. At the same time, Zelensky emphasized that much of the defense fighters are volunteers who decided to defend their country.

“There are now 600-800 thousand people in Ukraine who voluntarily went to the army. Yes, there is a law on mobilization, but these are people who deliberately made this choice, ”he said.

Zelensky also acknowledged that there are certain cases of rigid mobilization, but such incidents, according to him, are not a mass phenomenon and are considered by the relevant bodies.

Russia wants the destruction of the United States
in conversation with Shapiro Zelensky expressed his belief that Russia's strategic goal is not only Ukraine's conquest, but also destruction of the United States. This is, according to him, an ideology that has been stretched since the USSR.

“The Russians always wanted and want the US destruction. It is a policy of the Soviet Union, which they did not change, ”Zelensky said.

The President emphasized that Ukraine now protects not only its freedom, but also the interests of the West: "We are fighting for your rights in the same way as our own."

Ukraine - NATO Shield
The President has compared Ukraine to a living shield for the Western world that holds back Russian aggression.

"Until the Russians are in NATO countries, your families do not face whether to send their child for war or not," Zelensky said.

Corruption does not affect the military assistance
separately Zelensky stopped on the topic of control over international assistance. According to him, a transparent reporting system has been created in Ukraine, as well as foreign inspectors from the US and EU countries were involved.

“We said right away: we are open to any checks. We have everything under reporting, everything is transparent, ”he stressed.

In
response to the accusation of religious freedoms, Zelensky emphasized that religious tolerance prevails in response to accusations of religious freedoms. According to him, there is no religious pressure in the country, and various denominations coexist peacefully.

Ukraine seeks peace, but not at the cost of surrendering
the President also reminded that Ukraine is ready for peace, but is not ready for a "big compromise" - negotiations with those who consider terrorists. Zelensky also said this during a meeting with President of South Africa Siril Ramafosa.
