Ukraine is not ready to defend against another major Russian offensive expected at the end of May or in June, Zelenskyy said in an interview with CBS News.
He says that now the Armed Forces of Ukraine managed to restrain the Russian offensive in the worst winter months and "stabilize the situation."
But he says that it is difficult for the Armed Forces of Ukraine to fight against the Russian Federation, because its artillery has a longer range, and Ukraine has a huge shortage of both artillery and shells for it.
"We didn't have ammunition, artillery shells, a lot of different things," he said, stressing that while his forces have managed to hold off the Russians so far, they are not ready to defend against another major Russian offensive expected in the coming months, CBS News writes. .
Zelenskyi met with journalists in the Sumy region, where shelling intensified, and stated that the entire region is in a state of war due to a significant increase in the number of Russian troops on the other side of the border and attacks on nearby villages.
"Usually when they attack with artillery and destroy villages, they always try to occupy them afterwards. We don't know what will happen tomorrow. Therefore, we must prepare," Zelensky said.
The president "agreed" that it will be "very difficult" to win the war while Putin remains in power. And he declared that if Ukraine does not resist, then Kazakhstan will be next, then the Baltic states, then Poland, then Germany - "at least half of Germany."
And he also reprimanded the USA for not providing aid and noted that under 80% of the money from this aid remains in the States.
Vladimir Putin does not plan to freeze the war in Ukraine and wants to completely occupy it.
Volodymyr Zelenskyy stated this in an interview with CBS.
"This man does not want to end the war. He sells his national idea - the return of the Soviet Union, even more than the Soviet Union - the Russian Empire. He sells this idea to his community. It is not profitable for him to end this war until he occupies us," the Ukrainian president said.
