On March 6, President of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelensky is on a working visit in Brussels, where he will participate in a special meeting of the European Council and hold a number of important bilateral meetings.
According to the head of state Sergey Nikiforov, the President will start a day with a meeting with Belgium Prime Minister Bart de Weaver, during which the media reports are provided. This visit will be an important part of Ukraine's diplomatic efforts in the international arena, especially in the context of war with Russia.
Subsequently, Zelensky will come to the European Council building, where he will meet with the President of the European Council Anthony Right and President of the European Commission Ursula von Der Lyen. This visit will discuss strategic issues on the safety of Europe and support of Ukraine. Zelensky will also participate in a special meeting dedicated to the war in Ukraine and European defense architecture. This meeting was called by the President of the European Council, and it is planned to discuss important issues, including an increase in the cost of EU defense.
A particularly important event will be the announcement of the "Rearmament of Europe" plan from Ursula von der Lien, which will allow to mobilize about 800 billion euros for defense expenses and assistance to Ukraine.
Zelensky will also meet with Austria Chancellor, NATO Secretary General Mark Rutte and King Belgium Philip. These negotiations should be an important step in strengthening Ukraine's support in its struggle for independence and security in the international arena.
