President of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelenskyy made a phone call with his Liberian colleague Joseph Newm Boakai, during which they discussed preparations for the upcoming Global Peace Summit.
According to information from Zelenskyi, the dialogue also discussed the consequences of Russia's large-scale military aggression against Ukraine, as well as the impact of this war on food security in Africa.
The President expressed gratitude for the principled support of the sovereignty and territorial integrity of Ukraine by the Republic of Liberia. In this context, preparations for the Global Peace Summit were discussed.
It is noted that the Global Peace Summit is scheduled for June 15-16 in the Swiss city of Bürgenstock, which is being organized by Ukraine and Switzerland. At least 50 countries have already confirmed their participation, as the head of the communications department of the Swiss Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Nicolas Bideau, said.
German Chancellor Olaf Scholz also expressed his support for the upcoming Ukrainian Peace Summit, seeing new opportunities in this meeting.
In addition, Volodymyr Zelenskyy held telephone talks with the President of the Republic of Korea, Yoon Seok-yeol, during which the latter confirmed his participation in the Peace Summit in Switzerland.
