The President of Ukraine, Volodymyr Zelenskyi, signed Law No. 6490-d, which concerns the reform of the State Customs Service (SSC) . Yaroslav Zheleznyak reported this .
According to the new legislation, the changes at customs will come into force from the beginning of next month and include a number of important innovations.
The main provisions of the law:
- Customs reset : The reform will be based on the principles of the Bureau of Economic Security (BEB) and will be agreed with international partners.
- Transparent competition for the head of the State Customs Service : The selection of the new head of the State Customs Service will take place through an open competition with the participation of international organizations.
- Political independence of the head of the DMS : The head of the DMS will be able to be dismissed only after the conclusion of the audit, which will ensure greater stability in the service.
- Re-certification of employees : Within 18 months from the appointment of the new head of the State Security Service, re-certification of all employees of the service will take place.
- International experts in attestation commissions : Half of the members of attestation commissions for management positions will be chosen by international experts based on proposals from the business community.
- Salary increase : The law provides for a salary increase for customs officials in accordance with the law.
This reform aims to increase the efficiency of the State Customs Service, ensure the transparency of its activities and increase trust in the customs authorities.
