Zelenskyi signed the law on ensuring the transparency of local self-government

President Volodymyr Zelenskyy approved changes to the Law "On Local Self-Government in Ukraine", which introduce new standards of transparency and openness in the activities of local councils. This information was provided by the press service of the Apparatus of the Verkhovna Rada.

In accordance with the innovative law entitled "On Amendments to the Law of Ukraine "On Local Self-Government in Ukraine" to Ensure Transparency of Local Self-Government" (No. 3590-IX), the following provisions were introduced:

  1. Recorded video recordings of plenary meetings of local councils and meetings of their standing commissions.
  2. Broadcasting of plenary meetings of local councils and meetings of their permanent commissions in real time via the Internet (after the end of martial law).
  3. Publication of video recordings of meetings on the official websites of the Council.

In addition, the law requires publication of the agenda of meetings of the council's standing commissions, minutes of its meetings with the results of roll-call voting, mandatory use of the state language during sessions, as well as publication of public information about objects of property rights of territorial communities on a single state web portal and on official websites of local self-government bodies.
