Zelensky made a decision to dismiss Kostin: the head of Odesa OVA Kiper can become the new prosecutor general

Andrii Kostin can be appointed ambassador to the Netherlands if Amsterdam agrees to Kyiv's proposal. The President of Ukraine, Volodymyr Zelenskyi, together with his entourage, plans to change the Prosecutor General of Ukraine. Oleg Kiper, the head of the Odesa regional administration, is expected to be appointed in his place.

According to a source from the leadership of the "Servant of the People" faction, the decision on the dismissal of Kostin and other personnel issues will be considered by the Verkhovna Rada at the beginning of the new session, which will begin on April 10.

Kostin is allowed certain gaps in his work, in particular, he did not show sufficient activity in the prosecutor's office and did not always advise Bankova on important decisions. Behind the scenes, he was even called a "tourist" because of his frequent trips abroad. Meanwhile, the fact that he did not inform Bankov about the signing of the ЕРДР by deputies was also the reason for his dismissal.

After Kostin's resignation, he may be appointed ambassador to the Netherlands, instead of Oleksandr Karasevich. This became possible due to a change in political circumstances, which blocked Kostin's previous plans for a post in London. Now he is interested in working with judicial matters in The Hague.

In the event of Kostin's resignation, his duties will be temporarily performed by first deputy Oleksiy Khomenko. As for the next prosecutor general, Oleg Kiper, who has favorable relations with Bankova and Zelenskyi's entourage, is likely. However, there are certain questions regarding his ties to Russia and his activities in the Odesa region.

The president does not show much enthusiasm for Kiper's candidacy, but Andriy Yermak actively nominates him. In addition, other deputy heads of the President's Office and deputies are also trying to support other candidacies for the post of prosecutor general. For example, the first deputy general prosecutor Oleksiy Khomenko or the head of the parliamentary committee Denys Ionushas. However, today their chances of success look quite weak.
