Zelensky called Trump's peace plan "primitive" if it boils down to Ukraine giving up its territories in exchange for peace.
"If the point is that we will simply give up our territories, and if this is an idea, then the idea is very primitive. I think if Trump really has his own approach to ending the war quickly, I would be very happy to hear that idea. But we need strong arguments. We need not a fantastic idea, but a real one. It's about human lives, we can't joke and we can't take risks," said the President of Ukraine in an interview with Bild.
Zelensky said that his team invited Trump to Ukraine and he himself is ready to meet with him. Trump replied that he wanted to, but did not know when he would be able to.
The Washington Post wrote that Trump, in the event of his election victory, wants to persuade Ukraine to make territorial concessions. Trump called it "fake news" and said that he would not have a concrete plan before the election.
