The President of Ukraine, Volodymyr Zelenskyy, decided to liquidate medical and social expert commissions (MSEK) as part of the fight against corruption in the field of disability assessment. He called for the development of a corresponding draft law, which provides for the liquidation of MSEK from December 31, 2024.
The head of state put into effect the decision of the National Security Council of October 22, 2024 "On combating corruption and other offenses during the establishment of disability for officials of state bodies."
Among other things, Zelenskyi demands that a draft law be developed and submitted to the Verkhovna Rada for consideration, which would provide for the liquidation of medical and social expert commissions from December 31, 2024.
"... development and submission to the Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine... within a month of a draft law on amendments to some laws of Ukraine regarding the introduction of assessment of a person with a limitation of daily functioning, developed with the aim of ensuring urgent reform of the system of medical and social expertise in Ukraine, providing, in particular, for the elimination of medical and social expert commissions from December 31, 2024," the document states.
The President of Ukraine, Volodymyr Zelenskyi, initiated an urgent meeting of the NSDC regarding the situation with MSEK and fake disabilities. Zelensky expects quick actions from law enforcement officers to expose corruption schemes and punish the guilty.
