President of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelensky has intended to start negotiations with Russia after meeting with former US President Donald Trump. In an interview with the AP agency, Zelensky noted that the involved in the United States, Ukraine and Russia, as well as taking into account the voice of the European Union, is an important condition for such negotiations.
“I would like to see the United States, Ukraine and Russia at the negotiation table. The voice of the European Union should also be heard. I think it would be fair, effective. But I do not know what it will turn, ”Zelensky said.
He also said that Ukraine is currently maintaining contacts with the Trump administration, although these consultations are of a general nature and do not contain specific proposals or arrangements for further actions.
Earlier, Donald Trump Advisor, John Kellogg, urged an election in Ukraine by the end of this year. Based on this, Zelensky suggested that on the background of such applications, as well as given the possible new approaches of the international community, you can look for ways for peace negotiations with Russia.
Despite the lack of specific negotiation results, Zelensky believes that Ukraine should remain open to international contacts and diplomatia. At the same time, he stressed that the success of any negotiation will depend on the position of all participants and the further steps of the Kremlin.
