On June 15, during a speech at the first Global Peace Summit in Switzerland, President of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelenskyy called for the development of an "action plan" in order to record the end of the war at the next meeting of the peace summit.
He emphasized that the action plan adopted at the Summit will be presented to Russia.
President Zelenskyi also noted that currently Russia is not interested in peace, which is why its representatives are absent from the summit. At the same time, he emphasized that the issue of achieving lasting peace should be resolved jointly with other countries of the world, based on the UN Charter.
"When the plan of action is agreed upon by all and transparent to the peoples, it will be handed over to the representatives of Russia, so that at the second Peace Summit we can record the real end of the war. We are starting this journey now. Together, we must prove that the united world is a world of peace, a world that knows how to act," Zelensky emphasized.
It will be recalled that earlier Russian dictator Vladimir Putin put forward new demands for the start of peace talks with Ukraine. He stated that the complete withdrawal of Ukrainian troops from the Luhansk, Donetsk, Zaporizhzhya and Kherson regions is necessary, as well as the refusal to join NATO. In addition, Putin emphasized the need to lift all Western sanctions on Russia in order to start negotiations.
