Zelensky: "A protracted war does not benefit either Ukraine or Russia"

The President of Ukraine, Volodymyr Zelenskyy, expressed his belief that a protracted war does not work in favor of either Ukraine or Russia. He stated that the losses of both sides are huge, and this is one of the biggest pains for Ukraine.

Zelenskyi noted that Russia, in turn, does not think about its people, but focuses more on money, which it also loses. According to the president, a protracted war is not good for Europe, because it creates instability and danger for the entire continent.

Speaking about the long-term nature of the conflict, Zelenskyi emphasized that the issue is not only about money. "Questions in the future. We cannot let Russia win, because it will intensify negative trends for the whole world," he added. The president warned that one cannot even imagine what could happen if Russia wins, because history has shown how the narratives and political strategies of the aggressors change, which, in particular, a few years ago assured that they would not invade other countries.

Zelenskyi also recalled the words of Russia, which spoke of "fraternal" nations, assuring that it would never capture or kill Ukrainians. "And it was they who went to capture us and kill us," the president said, stressing that history can repeat itself, and it is important not to allow the repetition of such aggressive steps in the future.
