President of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelensky has announced the continuation of negotiations with Russia on the exchange of prisoners and a possible ceasefire. According to him, the Ukrainian side performs the arrangements reached during a preliminary meeting in Istanbul, and is already working on the next stage - a new exchange.
" Now we continue to comply with the agreements that have been reached at the past meeting in Istanbul, and the team is working on another exchange ," Zelensky said.
According to the Presidential Office, the NSDC Secretary Alexei Umerov suggested that the Russian side organize the next week. The purpose is to accelerate the process of peace and activate dialogue.
The head of state emphasized that the negotiation process requires more dynamics, and Russia should cease to evade specific decisions:
“ It is necessary to increase the negotiation dynamics. Everything must be done to reach the ceasefire. And the Russian Federation needs to stop hiding from decisions ."
Separately, the President emphasized the need to return all Ukrainian prisoners, including children, and stressed that the termination of murder and the humanitarian resolution of the crisis is a priority.
" We are ready for such a meeting, and it should be a meeting that will really provide peace ," Zelensky summed up.
