Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyi criticized China in Singapore for refusing to participate in the "peace summit" that was to be held in Switzerland.
Zelensky accused China of acting as a tool in the hands of Russian President Vladimir Putin.
"It is possible not to help Ukraine and the civilized world to end the war. But it seems to me that disrupting the peace summit, doing everything to prevent some leaders from getting there - this definitely does not bring peace closer. And this is not only support for Russia, it is actually support for war," the president said.
Zelenskyi also said that Ukraine has information about Chinese aid to Russia's military efforts.
"This is what we discussed with the Chinese leader over the phone. He promised me that China would stand aside and not support Russia with weapons. Today there is information that somehow some things end up on Russian markets through China... elements of Russian weapons come from China," the President of Ukraine said.
In addition, despite repeated requests for high-level meetings with Chinese representatives, no such meetings have taken place.
"Many times we wanted to meet with Chinese representatives," including Xi Jinping. "Unfortunately, Ukraine does not have any strong ties with China, because China does not want it," Politico quotes Zelensky.
In addition to China, Zelensky in Singapore also criticized Brazil, whose president Lula da Silva refused to go to the summit in Switzerland.
He commented on the joint statement of China and Brazil that Russia should also take part in the peace conference regarding Ukraine.
"With all due respect, neither China, nor Brazil, nor anyone else fully understands what Russia has brought to Ukraine with its war. No one has the right to tell us how this war should end," Zelensky said.
