President of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelenskyy spoke about changes in the management of the Armed Forces of Ukraine, which are aimed at reducing bureaucracy in the army and improving efficiency. According to the president, these changes provide for greater participation of high-ranking officials in combat operations and directly at the front.
The head of state said this during the 3rd International Conference on Food Security Grain From Ukraine.
The President noted that currently, the Commander-in-Chief of the Armed Forces of Ukraine, Oleksandr Syrsky, has a "main task," which is to reduce bureaucracy in the military.
Zelensky also emphasized that "the moral state of the military is the most important thing.".
"And if, but it's up to the military to decide, if the transition to the "corps-brigade" system, which they are proposing today, is a reduction in this distance from the general to the soldier, if this bureaucracy is reduced, let them do it," the head of state said.
In addition, the president stated that an officer should see a soldier. Zelensky said that for him personally, “a general who has not been in the trenches is not a general, despite his experience.”.
“And this is very important. An officer must see a soldier. A general who has not been in the trench is not a general for me, despite his experience. With all due respect, today the most difficult situation is on the front line, in the trench. Generals must be in the trenches. This is what war is like,” the president said.
Recall that on November 19, President Volodymyr Zelensky presented to the Rada the “Resilience Plan” of Ukraine, which consists of 10 points. The second point of this plan provides for a change in approaches to management in the army.
