Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky will soon sign an agreement with the United States on the development of minerals in Ukraine, US National Security Advisor Michael Walz said during his speech at the Conservative Political Action Conference.
Michael Waltz emphasized that the agreement is mutually beneficial for both countries. Zelenskyy offered the United States cooperation in the extraction and development of such minerals as aluminum, gallium, tritium and other resources necessary for a modern economy. Many of these minerals are not yet fully developed and require significant investment, which can become the basis for Ukraine's economic growth.
“President Trump is a man who knows how to negotiate. Ukraine has the resources that the world needs. This is a win-win proposition,” said Volz, emphasizing the importance of this partnership for the development of the Ukrainian economy.
The agreement also has strategic importance for ending the fighting in Ukraine. Volz emphasized that the agreement would not only help Ukraine economically, but would also lead to an end to the violence. “What could be better for Ukraine than to be in an economic partnership with the United States and stop the killing?” he asked.
At the same time, he noted that the US has an obligation to its taxpayers to return the funds that were spent on the war in Ukraine. Volz also emphasized that Europe receives funds through frozen Russian assets, but America has yet to receive its "bonus.".
Trump's advisor stressed that, aiming to achieve peace and stability, the American leader plans to end conflicts in Europe and the Middle East, including Ukraine. He believes that this agreement is an important part of the plan to ensure peace in these territories.
Signing an agreement with the United States could be a major step forward for Ukraine in its quest to strengthen its economy and stability. Waltz concluded that under Trump's leadership, the United States could ensure peace, and the agreement itself would be an important milestone on the path to restoring Ukraine's territorial integrity.
