It is possible to end the war on Ukrainian terms, – Zelensky

Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy said that ending the war on Ukrainian terms is not only desirable, but also possible. In an interview published with a video recording, Zelenskyy stressed the importance of implementing the points of the so-called “Peace Formula,” which was proposed by the Ukrainian side to achieve a just and lasting peace.

This is stated in the president's evening address.

Zelensky thanked Ukrainian soldiers for the strikes on Russian airfields, oil refining, and logistics. He said that on Saturday he heard a report on this issue from the Commander-in-Chief of the Armed Forces of Ukraine, Oleksandr Syrsky.

He emphasized that Ukraine needs to obtain permission from its partners to launch long-range strikes on Russia.

“Where the occupier is, where Russia strikes Ukraine from, where it launches missiles, “Shaheeds”, bombs. We need this decision so that we can act with all the weapons that can be effective. We must protect the lives of our people and end the war on Ukrainian terms. And every strike that accurately responds to Russia’s air bombs, that destroys Russian logistics and bases, that makes it difficult for the occupier to stay on our land – every such strike brings the just end of the war closer,” the head of state noted.

Zelensky also thanked partners who continue to pressure Russia and countries that help it in the war with sanctions. He emphasized that sanctions must work and be strengthened so that Russia cannot circumvent them.

“The more difficult it will be for Moscow to maintain its military production and supply the army, the more it will actually force Russia to peace. And the points of our Peace Formula are absolutely possible to implement precisely because the world majority is putting pressure on Russia, does not support its military activity, and really wants to return stability to international relations. Sanctions contribute to this, and there will be real peace. There will be if we do not show weakness and adhere to the course of justice,” the president emphasized.
