Zelensky called Trump's peace plan "primitive" if it boils down to Ukraine giving up its territories in exchange for peace.
“If it’s just that we will give up our territories, and if this is an idea, then the idea is very primitive. I think if Trump really has his own approach to ending the war quickly, then I would be very happy to listen to this idea. But we need strong arguments. We need not a fantastic idea, but a real one. It’s about human lives, we can’t joke and we can’t take risks,” the President of Ukraine said in an interview with Bild.
Zelensky said that his team invited Trump to Ukraine and that he himself was ready to meet with him. Trump replied that he wanted to, but did not know when he would be able to.
Recall that The Washington Post wrote that Trump, if elected, wants to persuade Ukraine to make territorial concessions. Trump called this "fake news" and said that he will not have a specific plan before the election.
