In Khadzhibey district of Odesa, there was a traffic accident with a minibus, which ended with numerous injuries to passengers.
According to the information of the regional headquarters of the National Police, the accident happened at the intersection of Mykhailo Hrushevskyi and Khutorska Streets. The shuttle bus, moving in the direction of the city center, crashed into a parked truck. The cause of the accident was the sudden deterioration of the health of the minibus driver.
"At this moment, we know about 12 passengers and the driver who sought medical help. All of them received injuries of varying degrees of severity," the police reported. Four teams of medics from the Center for Emergency Medical Aid and Disaster Medicine of the Odesa region promptly arrived at the scene. According to them, three women (ages 35, 59 and 67) and the bus driver (age 55) were hospitalized with various injuries.
Doctors note that due to the heat, the number of road accidents and victims has increased significantly. In particular, today the ambulance received another call to the Kyiv-Odesa highway in the Bereziv district, where two cars collided. As a result of this incident, three people were hospitalized with serious injuries, and one woman died on the spot. Law enforcement officers continue to investigate the circumstances of the accident. The minibus driver will be checked for intoxication.
